About
Are you having fun yet? I am, or at least trying to. I’m Dr Jokalew and I’m a GP in Glasgow.
This is my blog and I’m going to be filling it up with rants and raves about everything from my work life to the state of the pork belly prices in NY.
Please feel free to comment and flame. I’m used to it.

As one of your local HIV specialists I spend a huge amount of time trying to persuade patients to involve their GPs in their care, many of them citing perceptions that their GP is anti-HIV or anti-gay. We work hard to overcome this usually very successfully. Your comments on HIV and raltegravir therefore are very offensive and unprofessional as they appear to suggest that extending length and quality of lives of those with HIV is worthless. Imagine if one of your own patients had HIV and was reading your blog. Had your article stuck to criticising patent law and the large prices that companies can charge I would have agreed wholeheartedly. You would be welcome to observe a clinic with me and perhaps this would give you just a little more empathy with the situation.
